What is a Performance Coach?

A performance coach is someone whose expertise lies in helping people to enhance their ability to do something. They use a variety of coaching tools to help others overcome the obstacles that they are facing in fulfilling their maximum potential. They identify roadblocks that stop a person in achieving their full potential, set practical and achievable goals, develop new skills, and inspire and drive people to their success. Working with a performance coach can often be the difference between success and failure.

Lots of famous people, including Tom Brady, Serena Williams, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tiger Woods, Brad Pitt, Michael Phelps, George Clooney and Oprah Winfrey have all invested in coaching to help them focus on and achieve their goals.

The European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) define coaching as “facilitating the client’s learning process by using professional methods and techniques to help the client to improve what is obstructive and nurture what is effective in order to reach the clients goals”.
